    Wabash Community Event

    Dakota Ray Parker performs many varieties of music including classic country (Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash), some classic rock (Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen), Folk music (The Avett Brothers, Bob Dylan, Tom T Hall), Elvis Presley, Adele, Justin Bieber and so much more. He also writes his own music with more than 35 original songs. He won The Voice of Wabash County in 2018 and opened for Aaron Barker at the Eagles Theater.

    Pop Up Haunted Mini Golf @ the Museum

    he Wabash County Museum is excited to share that we are bringing Pop Up Mini Golf at the Museum back this October…but this year, it’s haunted! Haunted Pop Up Mini Golf at the Museum will run from First Friday, Oct. 7th through Sat, Oct 29th. Guests can play during regular hours from 10 am – 5 pm on Tues through Fri and 10 am – 2 pm on Saturdays.

    Just as last year, the full course will run through the entire Museum. This a fundraiser to support the operations, programming, and the preservation of our collection.

    We will also offer a few special, extra spooky evening events on Fri, Oct 21 & Sat, Oct 22 and Fri, Oct 28 from 7 – 9 pm. These will be “lights down” with spooky lighting and fog.. A cash bar will be available on these nights. And finally, our last day will be on Sat, Oct. 29th from 5 – 7 pm during Downtown Wabash trick-or-treating.

    Todd Oliver and Irving the Talking Dog

    Comedian and ventriloquist Todd Oliver will take the stage with his two funny, furry, and talkative companions – his dogs Irving and Lucy! When they get behind the microphone they turn everyday K-9 experiences into knockout comedy. This family-friendly show also features a cast of characters including Pops, a crazy confused old timer; Miss Lilly, his lifelong love; and Joey, the lovable bad boy. This clean comedy show will leave you howling for more!

    REO Speedwagon has sold more than 40 million albums around the globe. The band continues to electrify audiences with live performances featuring hits like “Can’t Fight this Feeling,” “Time for Me to Fly,” “Roll with the Changes,” “Keep On Loving You,” “Take it on the Run,” and more.

    Don’t miss Halloween double features at the 13-24 Drive In from Oct. 14-22! Fridays will feature two family-friendly movies, with Saturdays offering two showings for the grown-ups (including a bar!) $15 carloads.

    Gates open at 6:30pm Movies starts at 7:30pm 15 min intermission
    Concessions and bar (sat only) will close after intermission

    LIVE MUSIC: Abbie Thomas

    Influenced by an eclectic mix, from The Beatles and Karen Carpenter, to Lauren Hill and John Mayer, singer songwriter with a pop-soul flair, Abbie Thomas mixes catchy melodies with hard-hitting, life inspired lyrics. She was a songwriting finalist at The Acorn Theater in June 2019, and is now building a resume as an opening act for touring musicians (ex. Callaghan, Billy Gilman). Thomas released her first of a series of singles, “Those 3 Words” in April 2020, available on iTunes and Spotify. In May 2022, she released her first self-produced EP “Dirty Little Things.”

    Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani’s career spans 35 years and includes multiple GRAMMY nominations, multiple gold and platinum album awards, and collaborations with Alice Cooper, Mick Jagger, Steve Vai, Sammy Hagar, John Petrucci and more. He will be joined on stage by a full band.

    LIVE MUSIC: Mike Almon

    With more than 300 shows scheduled each year, Mike Almon has been playing guitar and writing music since he was 14. This year he plans to release his first studio-recorded album “Had a Good Run” featuring a mix of his originals, along with two bonus track parodies “Last Fence” and “Detour Land.”

    Restoration of the Eel River of Northern Indiana: A Journey of Reconciliation with Nature

    Jerry Sweeten will examine the cultural and natural history of the Eel River of northern Wabash County within the context of ecological restoration and research of the system over the past 20 years. The Eel River is a hidden gem of Wabash County with a rich and robust natural history and a great place to kayak or canoe.
