Next Generation: University Art Competition Exhibit

Wabash Community Event

The University Art Competition showcases the talent and creativity of higher education students. This state-wide juried exhibit is open to students currently enrolled in higher education programs across Indiana. Submissions are welcome from those pursuing an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree in any field of fine art or craft.

Take the stage and bring stories to life! This engaging class focuses on building acting skills through games, scenes, and character work, while also giving students a taste of the creative process with fun, hands-on activities in props, costumes, and design. Ages 8-12 years old. Every Tuesday.

Flex Band

Calling all woodwind, brass, and rhythm section players! Flex Band is a laid-back, welcoming group where musicians of all levels can play together and connect through music in a fun, supportive setting. Haven’t played in a while? No problem! This is the perfect chance to dust off your instrument and jump back in. There’s no audition or performance – just bring your instrument and enthusiasm. Be sure to register ahead of time so we can send you the music in advance.

Fan Halen

Known as “The World’s Most Authentic Tribute to Van Halen,” Fan Halen sets the stage for a night with Dave, Eddie, Alex, and Michael with a true-to-life tribute to the band and the spirit of an era! You’ll feel like it’s 1984 all over again – from the look of the band, the choreography, and the note-for-note reproduction of the greatest rock songs ever written. Relive your favorite hits like “Jump,” “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You,” “Panama,” and more.

Workshop: Needle Felted Sunset Landscape

Learn how to “paint” with wool as you craft a needle-felted landscape full of texture and vibrant color blends. In this guided workshop, you’ll explore layering techniques, shaping details, and bringing depth to your scene using simple tools and natural fibers. Your finished artwork will measure about 8×8.

All supplies will be provided.

Karen Wehr

Karen Wehr is a seasoned singer-songwriter whose musical roots run deep in the heart of Indiana. Growing up on a 1970s farm, she absorbed the sounds of classic rock and country, which now merge beautifully with her soaring, smooth vocals. Throughout her more than 30-year career, Wehr has enchanted audiences with riveting acoustic sets and electrifying group performances as part of “Karen Wehr & Friends.” Her credentials include notable performances at “Rockin’ The Hall of Fame” at the Eagles Theater in Wabash and opening for celebrated acts like Lita Ford of The Runaways and The Little River Band. With the release of her debut EP “Here In The Country,” Wehr’s empowering and heartfelt lyrics continue to resonate with listeners. Her authentic stage presence and unwavering dedication to her craft make her an unforgettable act and a true testament to the enduring spirit of Midwest music.

The competition features diverse styles – from traditional landscapes to contemporary expressions – reflecting the depth and breadth of today’s visual arts.

The Lovin’ Spoonful: With The Hollies Greatest Hits Starring Terry Sylvester

The Lovin’ Spoonful is known for timeless hits, including “Do You Believe in Magic,” “Daydream,” and “Summer in the City.” Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Terry Sylvester will showcase The Hollies’ chart-toppers like “Long Cool Woman (In a Black Dress)” and “He Ain’t Heavy (He’s My Brother).” Classic hits from two iconic groups that helped shape the sound of the ’60s!

The Jokers of Magic

Introducing The Jokers of Magic – the irreverent, laugh-your-butt-off night of comedy and magic you didn’t know you needed (but trust us, you do). Armed with credits from America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, and a few places that might technically be illegal to perform in, these slick tricksters will blow your mind and swindle their way into your heart in a no-holds-barred evening of tricks, lies, and laughs. It’s like SNL and Whose Line Is It Anyway? had a love child and sent it to Hogwarts.
