Justin Johnson: Elegies of Unrest

Wabash Community Event

War and conflict in the Middle East have profoundly impacted Justin’s motivation. The destruction of antiquity and the suffering of religious communities and minorities inspire his abstract works, which aim to “describe the indescribable.” Influenced by Robert Motherwell’s “Elegies to the Spanish Republic,” his art reflects on the constant state of war and the silence of victims. His hope is that these works will gently urge the audience to understand the greater world and reflect on these tragedies. On display mon-fri 8am-5pm.
