Summer Theatre Performance for Grades 5-8 Friday, June 23 and Saturday, June 24, both at 5:00 pm Show is Dear Edwina, Jr.

From the writer of the Junie B. Jones musical, Dear Edwina follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver-extraordinaire Edwina Spoonapple as she directs the neighborhood in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly “Advice-a-Palooza.” Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends, through clever, catchy and poignant songs.

Soundboard Live

Wabash Community Event

Soundboard showcases the work of international pianists. With a focus on standard repertoire, Soundboard is led by faculty mentors Matti Raekaillo and Peter Dugan as they stretch these classically trained musicians’ boundaries to include jazz, funk, and more. Concluding the performance, guests are invited to a meet and greet reception to mingle with the artists and faculty mentors.

The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!

Yoga Flow Class: All Skill Levels Welcome

Wabash Community Event

An instructor from Fusion Yoga, Fort Wayne travels to teach a yoga flow class for all levels of participants. It is held upstairs in the studio of Wabash Valley Dance Theater (58 W. Canal St. Wabash, IN).

It is $20 drop-in or $60 monthly fee. You can pay cash or online at www.wabashvalleydance.org.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band scored its first charting single in 1967, “Buy for Me the Rain,” and embarked on a self-propelled ride through folk, country, rock ‘n’ roll, pop, bluegrass, and the amalgam now known as “Americana,” producing timeless classics like “Fishin’ in the Dark,” “Mr. Bojangles,” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken.”

The Resonance performance lies at the intersection of the pristine technical training of classical musicians and cross-genre fluidity, culminating in an indescribable musical experience. Featuring faculty mentors Pianist Peter Dugan, GRAMMY-winning Time for Three; Violinists Nicolas Kendall & Charles Yang, Double Bassist Ranaan Meyer, the performance will include musical favorites as well as original compositions. Concluding the performance, guests are invited to a meet and greet reception to mingle with the artists and faculty mentors.
