LIVE MUSIC: Abbie Thomas

Wabash Community Event

Influenced by an eclectic mix, from The Beatles and Karen Carpenter, to Lauren Hill and John Mayer, singer songwriter with a pop-soul flair, Abbie Thomas mixes catchy melodies with hard-hitting, life inspired lyrics. She was a songwriting finalist at The Acorn Theater in June 2019, and is now building a resume as an opening act for touring musicians (ex. Callaghan, Billy Gilman). Thomas released her first of a series of singles, “Those 3 Words” in April 2020, available on iTunes and Spotify. In May 2022, she released her first self-produced EP “Dirty Little Things.”

Guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani’s career spans 35 years and includes multiple GRAMMY nominations, multiple gold and platinum album awards, and collaborations with Alice Cooper, Mick Jagger, Steve Vai, Sammy Hagar, John Petrucci and more. He will be joined on stage by a full band.

LIVE MUSIC: Mike Almon

With more than 300 shows scheduled each year, Mike Almon has been playing guitar and writing music since he was 14. This year he plans to release his first studio-recorded album “Had a Good Run” featuring a mix of his originals, along with two bonus track parodies “Last Fence” and “Detour Land.”

Restoration of the Eel River of Northern Indiana: A Journey of Reconciliation with Nature

Jerry Sweeten will examine the cultural and natural history of the Eel River of northern Wabash County within the context of ecological restoration and research of the system over the past 20 years. The Eel River is a hidden gem of Wabash County with a rich and robust natural history and a great place to kayak or canoe.

The Singing Hoosiers

Indiana University’s Singing Hoosiers are one of the country’s finest show choirs. With roots in the Great American Songbook, the ensemble entertains as they sing America’s story through immersion in her varied musical traditions, both past and present. They will perform selections from their fall program, “As Sun and Showers: Prophets, Bards, and Warbling Things,” featuring music of Bernstein, Porter, Jason Robert Brown, and Silk Sonic.”

Dash in the Bash 5K

Dash in the Bash 5K is back for 2022! The Wabash County YMCA invites everyone who loves to run OR walk to participate in this great event. Even if you do not like running but support the youth of Wabash County, this is the event for you!
