In August 1936, George and Ira Gershwin boarded a plane for Hollywood to write three movie musicals. Little did they know it would be the last year of George’s life. Charles Troy’s unique presentations employ a seamless blend of recorded songs, original graphics, vintage photos, historic video, and an extensively researched and scripted narrative to dramatize the stories behind the great creations of the American Musical Theatre.

Now in its 16th year, Wabass Institute is a staple of summer music in the Wabash community. Wabass dazzles audiences with the agility each scholar brings to the double bass. Faculty mentors Eric Larson, Ranaan Meyer, and Hal Robinson curate a wonderful evening of musicianship and personality. Concluding the performance, guests are invited to a meet and greet reception to mingle with the artists and faculty mentors.

The Comedy of Errors Get ready for a night of side-splitting laughter with The Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare’s most uproarious play! Two sets of identical twins who were separated at birth are reunited by chance years later in the same town. Mistaken identities, slapstick humor, and zany hijinks ensue as the characters try to untangle the confusion and chaos. A guaranteed LOL experience.

From the writer of the Junie B. Jones musical, Dear Edwina follows the adventures of plucky advice-giver-extraordinaire Edwina Spoonapple as she directs the neighborhood in a series of buoyant production numbers for the latest edition of her weekly “Advice-a-Palooza.” Edwina and her friends share wisdom on everything from trying new foods to making new friends, through clever, catchy and poignant songs.

Soundboard showcases the work of international pianists. With a focus on standard repertoire, Soundboard is led by faculty mentors Matti Raekaillo and Peter Dugan as they stretch these classically trained musicians’ boundaries to include jazz, funk, and more.
