Dakota Ray Parker performs many varieties of music including classic country (Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Johnny Cash), some classic rock (Neil Diamond, Eric Clapton, Bruce Springsteen), Folk music (The Avett Brothers, Bob Dylan, Tom T Hall), Elvis Presley, Adele, Justin Bieber and so much more. He also writes his own music with more than 35 original songs. He won The Voice of Wabash County in 2018 and opened for Aaron Barker at the Eagles Theater.

Wabash Community Event
Based in Marquette, Michigan, the Make-Believe Spurs have been playing sparkly Alt-Folk and Americana together since 2022. Their intent is to share kindness, love, and magic through music. Major influences include The Band, the Black Keys, Bob Dylan, John Prine, and Nathaniel Rateliff. Their sound and setup is versatile, ranging from close-knit harmonies to electric romps for the dance floor. Performing close to 200 shows a year, they tour throughout the United States, but primarily focus on the Great Lakes region. Since forming, they have performed at venues like Cedar Point, the Black Squirrel Bluegrass and Americana Festival, Albion College, Hiawatha Music Co-Op, and many others. Brian Wallen won 2nd place in the International Blues Challenge, and is an avid coffee drinker and iced tea enthusiast. Molly Wallen is a classically trained vocalist with experience in opera, and also an expert at crossword puzzles and crochet. Mavis Farr studied West African drums and percussion at Oakland University, makes magic as a silversmith and jeweler, and loves stamps. All three share a passion for hats, boots, thrifted fashion, and rescue dogs.

Manchester Symphony Orchestra celebrates Mother’s Day with Creatures Great and Small, featuring “Wood Notes” by African American composer William Grant Still; “And God Created Great Whales,” a symphonic poem with whale sounds by Alan Hovhaness; concertmaster Elizabeth Smith in “The Lark Ascending” by Ralph Vaughan Williams; and the finale, “Overture to Die Fledermaus” by Johann Strauss.
