Bluegrass at Hopewell

Returning for its fifth year, Bluegrass at Hopewell is located in the Rustic Barn at Hopewell. Grab a blanket, or host a table, and join Visit Wabash County for a casual evening listening to live bluegrass music 🪕 on the lawn at the Rustic Barn at Hopewell. With plenty of room for the kids to run, food trucks and vendors will be onsite offering a wide variety of food options 🍽️.

Marisa Votapek, a violinist with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and long-time friend of Hank and Louise Leander, will play a few of their favorite melodies including “Meditation” from Thais by Massenet and “Gabriel’s Oboe” by Morricone from the 1986 film The Mission. Pianist Tim Stephenson will accompany Marisa. Free admission, with reservations required due to limited seating.

Long Live: The Journey of Taylor Swift is a theatrically-inspired and high-energy immersive musical journey through every album. Relive the real-life moments that inspired her iconic songs throughout her career, from her country roots to pop superstardom. Whether you’ve been a Swiftie since day one or recently discovered her magic, this is your chance to sing and dance along to your favorite Taylor Swift hits, performed live by the tribute band that does it best.

Mark Lowry is loved around the world in the realm of gospel music. The innately entertaining communicator makes audiences laugh, cry, and think. His lyrics to “Mary Did You Know?” resulted in one of this century’s most loved modern Christmas songs. He has spent over 20 collective years as the baritone singer for the GRAMMY award-winning Gaither Vocal Band. His gift for communicating profound truths through music and storytelling keeps audiences of all ages on the edge of their seats.

The Thursday Parlay: Sharp Creek History

Join us for coffee and a treat, provided by our sponsor Bob Evans Restaurant and Imagine One 85. Oren Guenin will share the story behind the creation of MSD’s Sharp Creek Elementary School and reflect on his time as principal from 1980 to 2010. He’ll discuss how the school’s location, name, design, and staff helped shape a unique learning environment full of fun and growth. Now retired, Oren is watching new classrooms rise next to Northfield and plans to be there when the current Sharp Creek building is demolished in 2026. A LaFontaine High School graduate (Class of 1962), Oren earned his education and administration degrees from Ball State. “The Thursday Parlay” will take place from 10 to 11:30 am on Thursday, August 7th. This is a free event brought to you by the Wabash County Museum.

The Beat Goes On: Cher Tribute

In 2023, at the Grand Ole Opry, Lisa McClowry won Tribute Artist of the Year at the Josie Music Awards for her portrayal of Cher in The Beat Goes On. This Broadway-style show celebrates six decades of Cher’s legendary career, featuring hits like “I Got You Babe,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” “Believe,” and songs from her Dancing Queen album. With spot-on vocals, costumes, and mannerisms, McClowry perfectly captures Cher’s essence, delivering an unforgettable live experience.

Ozark Mountain Daredevils

Annual Themed Art Competition Reception

This juried competition was created over 15 years ago with the goal of keeping art interesting. Every year, a new “theme” challenges artists to create new and engaging works of art. Unlimited creativity is encouraged, and all media is welcomed to be submitted. The 2025 theme is Seasons, and artists are invited to explore the rich tapestry of spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Celebrating the ever-changing nature of our world through your unique artistic vision. Reception at 5:30pm on August 13. RSVPs appreciated.

Mac Powell

Mac Powell co-founded the Christian rock band Third Day, selling over 10 million albums throughout its nearly three-decade career, earning four GRAMMY Awards, and more. Since Third Day’s farewell tour, Mac released his debut solo Christian album, New Creation, in 2021, which landed at No. 1 on the Top Christian & Gospel Album Chart, followed by his most recent album released in 2024, I Love Jesus. Powell is known for his hits like “River of Life” and “God of Wonders.”
