Steel Magnolias

Wabash Community Event

Fire Line Productions of Wabash features local talent as they bring your favorite characters from the 1989 film to life on stage in this comedy turned drama. Make yourself at home at Truvy’s beauty salon, where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. The laughs and wit quickly subside when the sudden realization of their mortality sets in after the death of a beloved character, but also draws on the underlying strength – and love – which give the play and its characters the special quality to make them truly touching, funny, and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.

El Otro Oz

Wabash Community Event

Wed. April 12
10 am & 12 pm

Click your heels together tres veces and take a transformative journey with this salsa, merengue, and Mexican folk-infused bi-lingual musical inspired by The Wizard of Oz. Dora, a contemporary Latine teenager, struggles with her family’s ideas about tradition and dreads her impending quinceañera. But when she gets swept away to a strange new land, she learns how to celebrate her unique rhythm and embrace her cultural identity. This performance is easy to follow for both those fluent in (or learning) Spanish, and those who are not. Student matinees are held during the school day as field trip opportunities, but are open to the public as well.
