June 7 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
The Wabash Cultural District is celebrating its 3-year anniversary since the 2021 designation from the Indiana Arts Commission! Join us for a night of immersive art experiences, the return of Paint the Plow presented by the City of Wabash Street Department, community-focused fun, Food Truck Plaza and plenty to do around every corner on June’s First Friday in Downtown Wabash, Indiana.
The Wabash Cultural District is a 2.5 mile perimeter of walkable terrain. The boundaries are Hill Street along the influential railway tracks on the north, Carroll Street on the west, Paradise Spring Park on the east and the Wabash River on the south. A unique characteristic is our hilly topography. Standing at the District’s entrance, you can see the entire District unfolding before your eyes.
Wabash First Fridays in 2024 are presented by MetalX and Bowen Health Clinic. Additional support for Wabash First Fridays comes Event Partners: Indiana Plain Dealer, Pettit Printing, 95.9 KISS FM and Wabash Dominos.
Paint the Plow
June First Friday will celebrate downtown’s lively arts & culture with the return of a fan-favorite – Paint the Plow on Miami Street, an annual hands-on art experience for the whole family presented by the City of Wabash Street Department. A Wabash Cultural District coloring book competition, open to ages 18 and under, will also be held on Miami Street!
Food Truck Plaza
During June’s First Friday, Food Truck Plaza will feature live music by Sammy D the UkuLady as well as Emmett’s Paddy Wagon, Fairfax Coffee Company, Carol Sue’s BBQ, JB’s Cuisine Machine, Tim’s Thai 2 Go, The Franklin Mobile Bar, Amor Colombian Food, Amazn Azn and Nick’s Dog Cart.
More Fun in Downtown
PLUS, don’t forget to embark on a shopping spree, enjoy delicious dining and discover a variety of entertainment options in downtown! For every $1 spent in a locally owned, small business, 67¢ stays in the local economy. Explore downtown businesses and shop local during First Friday!

“I know the kids really enjoy this event, but sometimes I feel like the parents enjoy it a little more. It’s a great feeling when a car pulls up to us while we are out working and it’s a parent wanting to show their child’s artwork to them. ”
Justin Adams, City of Wabash Street Department
