How to make the most of the first weekend in May in Downtown Wabash
Kick off the month with Shop Hop, First Friday, Sidewalk Sales and Mother’s Day specials
We’re not kidding when we say this may be the busiest weekend in May for Downtown Wabash. May marks the beginning of summer for some. May also launches more outdoor activities like the 15th season of the Downtown Wabash Farmers Market and Miami Street festivities on First Fridays. But let’s do a “deep-dive” into the first weekend of May…because it’s going to be FUN.
First thing’s first…Shop Hop
Shop Hop returned to 2022 for its second run for visitors and shoppers alike to experience 16 different businesses across four different months. Anyone who participates in Shop Hop has the opportunity to complete a Shop Hop form and turn it into any participating business or our office for a chance to win $100 in Shop Hop Bucks. Those Shop Hop Bucks are eligible to be spent at any of the four participating locations of that month. For May, you can get your Shop Hop on at Modoc’s Market, Bellazo, Lighthouse Mission of Wabash County and the Charley Creek Inn’s Ice Cream & Candy Shoppe! Get to shopping now through the end of the month.
Pro Tip: Grab a Shop Hop form while you’re out-and-about on May’s First Friday to enter early.
Next…May’s First Friday
May’s First Friday is the first First Friday of 2022 to have Miami Street closed off with family-friendly activities, vendors and food trucks! It’s also just in time to honor graduating seniors, and what better way to do that than on a First Friday? At May’s First Friday, plan to browse boutique shopping deals, the delicious drinks and dining options, local community vendors and fan-favorite Downtown Wabash Farmers Market vendors! After a successful weekend of Sidewalk Sales in August 2021, Spring Sidewalk Sales were born! In 2022, you can expect to see TWO, count them, TWO dates for Sidewalk Sales, including THIS WEEKEND, May 6 & 7! Downtown Wabash Businesses are excited to share their springtime sales pieces with you while the weather is starting to turn beautiful again.
